The "welcoming committee at the pottery village we stopped at while aboard the RV Pandau 1947. They are selling "longhi" the traditional skirts, and other Myanmar souvenirs.

This is how they make the pots. The young boy is working the treadle with one foot (and looking a bit put out I might add as most kids would) while Mama molds the pot. She started with a large lump of wet clay and managed to make three pots from the same lump in about five minutes.

And lest you think they can't get much done that way, look at this sea of pots. And that's just what would fit into my field of vision.
