Pointsettias growing wild and it's not even Christmas!
Monks lined up for lunch at a monastery we visited. They are actually pretty accessible and we chatted up several of them while we were there. One knew all about Dallas and said "Aha, Bush country!"
This is the only case of scamming we found: people would have a cage or two of birds, in this case young owls, and they tell you that for two dollars you can have the pleasure of setting one free. Don't know what happens if nobody bites.
